Update messed up the app
I used to love this app. Had it three years for free and now I pay $20 for an app that constantly freezes

what a poorly made app, linking with bluelink is so glitchy. garbage. do better

My Hyundai says that my car is charging but it is not charging
— clyde1900
Very slow to respond when logging in
— flbestlmt
Prompts for password seemingly everytime I run the app. Excessive.
— Scott Parker
App very slow loading or not at all. Deleted and reinstall still the same.
— Humapiedras
I absolutely love my car the service the professionalism Genesis provides Im in Awe❤️
— aisha brown
The app no longer shows where my car is in real time. I refresh, have the updated version and it still wont show where my car is.
— Stacy Eastman
After their recent updates, it's bad. Make it very inconvenient to switch from scheduled charging to manual. Too much loophole to and steps to. Go through
— Skyy Pham
Very convenient, barely ever a problem connecting to the vehicle. Great tool to have.
— edward antonelli
Works half the time. The desync with certain car info is wonky and it would be nice to get updates on recalls or service. There's also some missed opportunities, like being able to open or close windows.

Update. They fixed it. Now give us faithful customers Peanuts! Haha. Why was the climate control remote start removed? that’s just wonderful that people that buy you more expensive vehicles get the peanuts pictures and all, however, taking away features from your existing customers is not a good look.
— Pepperw2
Please add widget, like I need how much my car is charged or have gas left on my screen rather than logging in every time into the app
— Manroop7
Climate control still isn’t working
— Yune132

— Ed Anzore
VERY convenient!!

The new update has taken some options away. This is no longer a fully functioning app that’s connected to my vehicle. STILL ISN’T WORKING CORRECTLY. ALL OPTIONS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE LIKE THEY WERE BEFORE. FIX THE APP FIX THE APP FIX THE APP

I have nothing but a great experience when I pick up the phone and customer service helps. Thx Genesis USA.

takes a very long time to unlock/ lock doors. so long it's not useful. also choosing date wheels doesn't freely spin and has to line up perfectly. annoying.
— Diane Derenia
Love it!
— expatron
App is unusable after recent update. Freezes constantly. Frustrating for a service you have to pay for and is now worthless
— Abudbgt
I want to love this app but blue link Customer Service is useless. I have submitted multiple tickets to correct this glaring issue. And I never get a response. When I send a remote start with climate control command to my car, the car starts with the climate control completely off. I mean off not even to the last setting. Off. The only way to work around this was to send a climate stop command, followed by another climate start, and then, and only then, it would work properly. Then, blue link made it worse by updating the app so that it’s now impossible to send a climate stop command! So rather than listening to customers feedback and fix a huge problem, they updated their app to take away the only workaround customers had. I know I’m not the only person with this issue because it’s all over Reddit.

I do enjoy the app. I really just started using it. I know it does a lot and I’m gonna start using it more so I’m very spoiled and grateful right now. I do love it.

You have to jump through so many hoops to just pay your bill. I have no idea what bank holds my loan, so I cant just set up a profile with them to send my payments. Rather, you have to click make a payment, go to an external site, reset your password, then when you type the password you'd like it says thats your existing password you just tried and it didnt work, go back, still doesnt work. Sure some of the remote features are nice, but they're limited and dont make up for the payment issues.
— brian mcavoy
Technical support slow, inexperienced, non customer focused. very disappointed.

great idea, poor code.

I have a 2024 Hyundai Sonata limited hybrid that I bought a year ago knew from the dealership and for the first couple months. The app worked perfectly, and then they sent an update to my car. And now it does not allow me to use the air conditioner start button from the app. It will say that it is come on successfully, but it never turns on, I’ve talked to Blue links support about this and I’ve talked to the dealership, and I told me just to wait for another app update which I have, and on this most recent app update, the issues still persists.

Unable to receive security code to open the app!

why the heated seat can't be turned on remotely is beyond me. decent otherwise
— Nino Deiulis
There seem to be endless issues with this app, besides how slow and laggy it usually is. Connectivity is intermittent. Mileage and battery level are inaccurate. It doesn’t record maintenance appointments properly and I have had an alert urging me to take the car in for a service, from almost 9,000 miles ago (the car has had several maintenance appointments since then). Currently I’m unable to perform any remote functions or see the correct battery charge status of the car. I tried deleting and reinstalling and nothing works. Customer care is slow to respond and generally unhelpful. If we can’t get a simple app to work properly in 2026, what are we doing exactly? Big fail. Especially when this app is supposed to be one of the biggest perks of driving this car. Shameful.

I live in a complex and I had to walk all the way out to my car to be sure that the door is locked and it was locked
— Natholyn
When I lock my doors, the app shows as locked. However my alerts always show the car as unlocked, regardless of how I lock it- with the fob or hand. It’s annoying.
— Tema98
The app is hanging does not respond to touch. And then just closes. Please test updates before rolling out. Some people rely on this feature for their safety.
— Slygator456
Fantastic car to drive and the miles per charge are great
— Cfyjofdhvxjjcggsf
App shoes maintenance required when it does not need.
— Ron Feldman
I love the Hyundai app… WHEN I can get into it. It requires a password change so often that I get locked out all the time and I’ve been forced to carry around a notebook just so I know what new password I had to choose (cuz I ran out of ideas within the first couple of months). Other than the ignorant security issue, the app has been fantastic!!

Hello, I’m the owner of a 2025 Santa Cruz and for the past 2 weeks the BlueLink app has not been working properly at all. I’ve called Hyundai I’ve spoken to techs and no one seems to be able to fix it?! Update as of May 2026 the BlueLink in my vehicle STILL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY!
— Dave5090
Everything about this app is hard to use. The notifications are not helpful. It takes too long to use the app with the car. Not intuitive to navigate. Why bother if this is the best you can do? The finance site doesn’t allow scheduling a payment. You either do auto pay or pay on the day you log on. What a joke.

When I was thinking about getting an SUV I had occasion to rent a Cadillac Escalade. I found the dash almost inaccessible, little hieroglyphic symbols and not much else user-friendly withers the Hyundai Santa Fe is the exact opposite. Most points in the entire system are either obvious at a glance or easily search through a navigation system, anyone can read. Also a joy to drive!
— Squarglzzz
Cannot run climate settings in new version. Old version work perfectly. no way to turn the car off. if you try to turn climate on, it turns off. No remote start/stop button means you cannot turn car off.
— Bill Taylor
After many different connectivity issues in the year I've owned my 2025 Elantra Hybrid Limited, it's finally working correctly. One thing that I would like to share is to make sure you have the app set to never sleep. I do still have one feature that has never worked. The Calendar in the infotainment system always says to reconfigure but that does nothing. All app permissions are on so I have no idea why this does not function.
— Jennifer Wilfong
Doesn't work in Puerto Rico because of the supposed modem restrictions. However if i buy a vehicle from the united states, register bluelink and get it shipped to PR, it magically works through roaming. It is ridiculous and disappointing to lose most of the digital functionality of the vehicle due to technical "limitations" which can be overcome by replacing the modem and chip, or changing the system through an update for registration. Seriously unfair. We payed more for less...
— Angel Perez
It’s all some web app wrapper or it feels that way. No native controls, excessive notifications for basic features. The weakest link outside of Hyundai not putting immobilizes or walk away auto lock in their cars.

App will notify me 10x a day that the windshield washer fluid is low and not at all that my car is unlocked all day.
— Jason Adelaars
It works well to preheat or precool your car remotely. Or lock remotely in case you forgot. The maintenance alerts don’t work. If you take your car in for service 1mi sooner than the interval it doesn’t recognize it and continually tells you service is past due. Not valuable since it then masks any real alerts since you’ll stop reading them.
— Viannacci
Since your update, the app has started lagging severely. I haven’t been able to turn on the air conditioner remotely for two hours now. It is simply a terrible update.
— datanch
The various remote commands sent to the vehicle, such as LOCK, are way too slow to execute.
— Matchbaby
The update recently removed remote climate features. Prior I was able to choose settings on my vehicle weather I wanted cool or warmer temps. It also prior allowed me to turn the heat or air on my seats. Now it’s just climate on and off. Please fire whomever said this was an upgrade to this app.
— Kirstee_30

I'm debating on getting rid of my hyundai because of the disrespectful customer service team. they will degrade you, disrespect you over the phone. the blue link customer service really sucks!!!

It’s unfortunate that Hyundai thinks it should charge a subscription fee so that I can remotely enable heat and A/C… Tesla includes this and much more access and functionality. I just bought a $75K I9, and I’m in disbelief that Bluelink is going to expire after 3 months and I’d then need to spend between $100-300 for continued access. This is nuts. You can do better, Hyundai!
— JustJus
Amazing technology. Even being a senior citizen, I was able to program every aspect. YouTube was my go to for setup. The paper manuals were pretty much useless.
— TxBgWoody
This app works but it really aggravates me that I have to subscribe to something I already paid for when I bought the car. These features probably added at least $10K to the car price and now I have to pay over $200/month (more than the actually car payment) to use them!?!?!! Also, they are completely useless if you live somewhere without cell service, which I do. Also, if you park in a garage, useless. It just aggravates me so much.
— Tucker Hamilton
Thank you easy and convenient

I paid over 35,000 grand and you are going to be stingy and greedy with the perks that came "with the car". THE HECK I WILL ! You don't state how much.. for how long... it's just too bloody much. Yoa person of sense? A key is a key. period. you bug me about necessary maintenance, but REFUSE to specify what it needs or how much! PLUS... PLUS!! My car has barely 17,000 miles. I've had the normal oil changes etc. you want 200 $ just to "hook it up and see what else you can do to my new car.
— Leigh Daugherty
The app has recently gotten even worse. It constantly crashes, the alert notifications are useless because the alerts page (if I can even make it that far) won’t display correctly to be able to use, and if I can make it to the support page, it definitely crashes. It is unusable at this point and I’d like to get my blue link subscription $ refunded.
— Sports fan 333

Painfully pathetic excuse for an app. Garbage Software that requires a network connection in order to connect to your vehicle. What moron approved this?!? Fire this ENTIRE team and get people in there who actually know what they are doing!

Nearly a year and Hyundai developers have not figured out how to fix the remote start function on the sonata. Even worse, the workaround users figured out was removed in the latest update. This was either a deliberate act or a gross indicator of incompetence. Update: looks like they responded to my review. Apparently someone from Hyundai decided it was best to readvertise the features of the app that completely make the remote start feature unusable for 2024 Sonatas. 🤦🤦🤦
— Sandro Di Geso
This app is the best and its so easy bro, my girl left the keys inside my trunk and the vehicle got locked, so i downloaded the app and literally in 5 minutes i created an account and was able to unlock it threw my phone app super easy. I drive a 26 elantra N 😍 abyss black
— ElantraN06
The app used to function seamlessly and as of the last two updates is all buggy and times out. It’s painful to interact with it.

When I bought this car, I thought it was the coolest thing to be able to lock, start, and get odometer info. with my cell phone. I don't owe my car anymore but Hyundai wants to keep charging me, yearly, just to keep this service. Next time I buy a vehicle, it will NOT be a Hyundai, what a con!
— Connie Aguirre
This is a known problem and Hyundai isn’t fixing it. Climate start in which either heat or cooling is used will not start the AC or heater. There is a workaround (Climate Start, Climate Stop, Climate Start), but that’s not acceptable.
— CaptML
Cabin Temp - Please make the full option available & bring it back. I am unable to adjust my seat temps through the app anymore. Thnx.

After the update, the app doesn't even reflect that my car is charging! very disappointing update. Now it's hard/impossible for me to check the status of my charge when I'm away from my car.
— Brian Kintanar
Dumbest app I ever used. Response is quite slow and lagged. Also, keep asking login randomly.
— Leslieric0716
The recent update (April 24, 2026) has removed the timestamp from the charging complete notification's text. Now, instead of just reading the notification on the lock screen, if I want to know when charging finished I have to unlock the phone, fire up the app and switch to the notifications page where a separate timestamp can still be found.
— Frank Boyne
App was working perfectly and then got this update. Looks better but works horrible even if does. Mostly crashing and doesn’t get car updates.

The app is so-so. It takes forever to connect to the vehicle and then I have to “lock” the car first(even though it is locked) and then start the car. It is often easier just to go out and start it. Of course Hyundai doesn’t offer a remote start, so you have to go through this process every time. The doesn’t provide any information that is overly needed and using the owner’s manual is challenging. You have to scroll through a the hundreds of pages to hopefully find what you need.
— Conley261
Better than what it was, the update had me confused at first because of the layout change, thought I forgot how to start the car
— Adrian X
Climate control no longer works with 2024 Sonata Nline. Can not turn off car remotely cause it doesn't actually turn on the climate at initial start, thus app sees the car as off. At least with previous version I was able to turn car off remotely and then turn it back on and the climate would actually work. Got a response back, obviously they didn't understand that the single button for climate control doesn't change unless the actual climate comes on inside the car. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO TURN OFF
— Dave Phillips
App was working well until error with updating profile picture started
— Nonsoderrick
Updated the app and now the digital key is no longer working. Grrrr. I tried to repair and set up the digital key but it says I don’t have a vehicle. What a mess.

So....what happened to the Remote Start? 2025 Hyundai Tucson. After this ridiculous update, it just disappeared from the app. Help, please. UPDATE (04/24/2026): I figured it out. It was confusing, at first. It's not so bad, after all. Thank you.

Hate the new update, why would you take away the feature that would tell you if your window are open. I dont like the look its less intuitive do better please. Hyundai to your response no it is not in quick view or in full list I have screen shots to prove that. Quick view shows all 4 doors trunk and hood. If you scroll down the options are: location, vehicle, tire pressure, climate, defrost, sunroof, odometer, vehicle health, remote action history. Its 4/24 i have the most updated app.

non-functional app, poor customer service... features that I purchased my car for have not worked in an entire year. Small claims court is next.
— Brian Wingate
Convoluted uninspiring interface poorly laid out lacking visual simplicity and missing so much important information. No inputs on efficiency, no information on kWh used no information on kW delivered. No info on information mi/kWh driven. Yes you can start climate almost all apps do that but many make it simpler. And when used uneven implementation. Sometimes seat turn on sometimes not, same for steering wheel. Sending navigation instructions to car rarely works. Rarely use it except for end of charging notification

This is a great app. I love most of the features. I hate that it asks me to confirm my personal information so often. (Weekly? Too often.) I could see confirming once every 6 months or so. Also, I don’t need to know that my car is unlocked when it’s in my own garage. I wish I could geofence some/all notifications.

This app could be better. My app for my HUM was easier to use and gave me more specific information. Plus for the same amount money I had more options.

Since the last update, the gas mileage remaining is no longer showing. Very disappointed. One of the most useful information to have and they update it with information I don't care about.

After the upgrade. I can't always find where the car is at. it will say the locating was successful , but then it doesn't show the car on the map like it used to. So it can make for a lot of guesswork. The old version worked better for locating the car. half the time it doesn't work at all. you have to keep restarting you phone for it to show the car on the map.
— James Flanagan
okay I guess. no let me in my car when near the door with my phone. I have to open the app. there is no scheduled climate controlls so plan on waking up 2 hours early to get that started. nothing here to customize the display more - like split screen. nothing on the health of the car - just maintenance times. no how to get the promised mpg rating since mine is nowhere near the quote. I think it is just a tracking/spying tool (another chance to sell personal data) for their partners.

The more updates that happen to this app, the worse it works. Actions take an extremely long time to do anything

I wish the remote start time could be adjusted higher. I live in New England and I have to turn it on at least twice in the cold months

Nearly a year of not being able to start climate within the app without hitting "start > stop > start again". I'd think they'd have squashed this bug much faster. One star for that, because remote control is my main reason for having the app. Also, Samsung-specific nitpick... I'd like to choose to install the digital key in my Google wallet and bypass Samsung wallet.

— Kyllah Edwards
Just terrible.
— Guido Martínez
keeps dropping the vehicle icon. if you close app and reopen it appears then disappears. frustrating and useless
— J Church
where the remote start go?? all subs are active,
— Evgenii Grigorev
This new app is terrible. It takes so long to respond. Bring back the old app.
— Kabart56
What a joke. Hyundai has no business making EVs. And this horrible App thinks your washer fluid level is more important than if the windows are closed. #sad
— Jeff Ski Kinsey
Take some time to get to know this latest version; some things aren’t intuitive anymore at all. IMO they should’ve kept the original format and button sequence.
— Hyundai7234
Hate the new update, why would you take away the feature that would tell you if your window are open. I dont like the look its less intuitive do better please.

The app is getting better every update

The updates are getting ridiculous and causing major inconvenience. The app is not synced with my dealership. The notifications of say low windshield fluid go off everytime you turn your vehicle off..
